Marriage – Part I

Typical macho man marries typical good-looking woman and after the wedding, he laid down the following rules:

‘I’ll be home when I want, if I want and at what time I want and I don’t expect any hassle from you.
I expect a great dinner to be on table unless I tell you that I won’t be home for dinner.
I’ll go hunting, fishing, boozing and card-playing when I want with my old buddies and don’t you give me a hard time about it. Those are my rules! Any comments?’

Balinese “Galungan” ceremony in Caribbean

Galungan Day is back! It is another big celebration for me and all of Balinese. Galungan is a celebration of the winning of Dharma (good) over Adharma (evil) which we celebrate every 6 months or 210 days according to Balinese calendar. On this day, we offer thanks to God and ask forgiveness for any sins we have committed in the past and also pray for spiritual peace. The most significant sign in Bali, you will find a long bamboo pole, called Penjor decorated the entrance of Balinese family compound. It is a very festive atmosphere in the most of street in Bali.

Indonesians Independence Day

Yesterday August 17th, we celebrated 63rd Indonesians Independence Day. Most of Indonesian including myself took part in the Independence Day Celebrations with full of enthusiasm.

We had some fun games sponsored by Welfare Manager, Boutique and also donation from staff member. We also invited our Indonesian neighbors who live in the main island at Provo to join the celebration.

One More Day

August 3, 2008

Tonight, it will be one year since my dad passed away, and I still feel numb. Lord took him away from me forever. My heart physically aches for him, and I still can’t believe he’s gone.

That evening when I was helping one of my best friends packing to move to other new work place, I got unexpected phone call from my sister home. That same morning I was calling home to check the condition of my dad who had stroke and I don’t know why I reminding her over n over to call me if anything happen to dad.
